Rezidor Expands in Russia and CIS
The Rezidor Hotel Group: a dominant presence in Russia and CIS with its leading brands RadissonSAS and Park Inn
The Rezidor Hotel Group continues its expansion in Russia and the CIS countries, currently with 16 open hotels and a further 16 in the pipeline due to open in 2009/10.
In this region, to date in 2008, Rezidor has opened three hotels in Russia and one in the Ukraine. In March, the new Radisson Resort, Alushta, opened in the Ukraine. The 63-room hotel is located on the Crimean peninsula with breathtaking views of the Black Sea and surrounding mountain landscape.
Opened in April, the new Radisson SAS Don Hotel in Rostov-on-Don is located in the heart of the commercial and entertainment district of this newly emerging city, with views over the River Don. The hotel offers 80 designer guest rooms, along with a variety of superbly outfitted suites, spacious apartments and one very impressive Presidential Suite.
In addition, two Park Inn hotels have opened in Russia, including the first Park Inn in Moscow. Park Inn Sadu, Moscow, opened in May, located right in the historic heart of the Russian capital. Just a short walk from the Kremlin and Red Square, this new 118-room hotel is the perfect base for guests looking to explore this vibrant city.
Park Inn Voronezh is in the south-west of the country, 500 km south of Moscow. The hotel features 133 bright and modern bedrooms, including studios and three spacious suites, all offering the essentials of a great Park Inn experience. Home to a modern conference room, the hotel is able to accommodate meetings, banquets and private functions for up to 150 people. Voronezh is a major administrative, industrial and cultural centre. Its unique mix of natural beauty, man-made wonders and a relaxed atmosphere make it one of Russia's loveliest cities.
Rezidor has also announced a new Park Inn in St. Petersburg: The 246-room Park Inn St. Petersburg, Nevsky Prospekt is expected to welcome the first guests in 2009. The new property will be the third Park Inn in the city, in addition to Park Inn Pribaltiyskaya (1,200 rooms) and the Park Inn Pulkovskaya (840 rooms). The group's impressive portfolio in St. Petersburg is completed by the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel.
In Moscow, three Radisson SAS hotels are under development, all scheduled to open in 2010. The 264-room Radisson SAS Belorusskaya Hotel, the 200-room Radisson SAS Riverside Hotel on the banks of the Moskva River and the Radisson SAS Olympisky Hotel with 364 guest rooms.
Other future openings in Russia include Radisson SAS hotels in Kaliningrad, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk, plus Park Inn hotels in Ryazan and Kazan.
