Jurys Inn invest in hotel refurbishment
On the back of seven new hotel openings in 2009, Jurys Inn will invest €9 million in 2010 on updating hotels and an overall new look which will support the hotel group’s own classification – Exceptional Everyday City Hotels. This new classification, was launched on the revamped Jurys Inn website and spells out what existing guests already know about the hotel group, it strives to make exceptional, it’s everyday.
This EUR9 million investment follows a significant EUR4.6 million major refurbishment and upgrade of two of Jurys Inns landmark Dublin hotels, at Christchurch and Custom House Quay, in addition to significant upgrades for the hotels in Cork and Galway.
The 2010 investment programme will see significant additional upgrades to the hotel at Custom House Quay, including a complete refurbishment of the hotel’s public area. Jurys Inn Belfast is about to complete its £1 million refurbishment work, which included the entire 190 rooms in addition to a complete revamp of the hotel’s reception, restaurant and bar areas.
The 2010 programme has also seen Jurys undertake major refurbishments and upgrades to both rooms and public areas in a number of the older hotels in the group including Manchester, Islington and Edinburgh. Further investment and refurbishment work is scheduled for a number of the group’s other properties this year and into 2011.
Although Jurys Inn is technically classified as a 3 star hotel group, guests don’t put it in that category. This reflects a combination of its 4 star facilities, such as large welcoming reception areas, a separate bar and restaurant, and also consistent delivery of warm and friendly service. This has bagged the hotel group countless awards including Best Independent Hotel Brand 2010 and Most Improved Business Brand 2009. In fact, Jurys Inn has already built a reputation for making the everyday exceptional - with 84% of guests agreeing that they would stay at one of its hotels again.
