Four things you need to know about InterContinental Dubai Festival City:

• InterContinental Dubai Festival City is the first hotel in the UAE to trial the flagship Lexus hybrid, the LS600hL within their chauffeur fleet. Following an agreement with Al-Futtaim Motors, two hybrids joined the fleet in early January 2009 as part of an overall testing programme undertaken to determine whether the vehicle will be suitable for the UAE market.

• The InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) properties in Dubai Festival City are certainly not in the dark when it comes to reducing their carbon footprint, yet ironically in order to lower their CO2 emissions, this is exactly how the hotels will appear until the second quarter of 2010. Together with Philips, InterContinental and Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City are replacing their entire exterior lighting display with a more energy efficient LED system.

 

 

• The InterContinental Hotels Group properties in Dubai Festival City has been prolific on social media websites and services over the past two years. Each property has a Twitter account and Facebook page to deliver the latest news to fans.

InterContinental Dubai Festival City also has its own blog and YouTube account, providing further ways of interacting with the hotel and finding out more about goings on at the property.

• InterContinental offers direct access, via covered walkway, to Festival Center where guests will find more than 550 of the world’s top retailers and a choice of over 90 restaurants and cafés. It is connected to the luxury marina via a waterfront promenade.

The hotel is within walking distance of the Al Badia Golf Club and 18-hole championship golf course, managed by InterContinental Dubai Festival City.
