IHG opens three new InterContinental Hotels in Africa
Opening in Nigeria - InterContinental Lagos
Coming in late 2010, InterContinental Lagos will be located on Victoria Island, in the centre of Lagos, home to the majority of foreign embassies and multinational companies, making it the perfect residence for affluent business and diplomatic travellers. Built on elevated terrain overlooking Lagos’s port and the city below, the 19-storey hotel will offer uninterrupted, spectacular views of the Lagos Skyline.
InterContinental Lagos will comprise of 361 well-appointed, elegantly decorated rooms and suites as well as a Club InterContinental floor. Guests will have access to an all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, room service and the pool bar for lighter meal choices and snacks. The lobby lounge and cocktail bar will be the perfect setting for casual meetings over coffee or drinks. In addition, for the health conscious traveller there will be a health club bar serving fresh juices.
InterContinental Lagos will also offer exclusive business and conference facilities including a state of the art ballroom with a foyer area, and several additional flexible meeting and breakout areas. Other amenities will include a fully-equipped gym, outdoor pool and retail space.
Opening in Angola - InterContinental Luanda
Coming in late 2011, InterContinental Luanda will be located near the Miramar district, the diplomatic region of the Angolan capital and home to the majority of foreign embassies, making it the perfect residence for affluent business and diplomatic travellers. Built overlooking Luanda’s port and the city, the 25 storey hotel will offer uninterrupted views of the Atlantic coast.
InterContinental Luanda will comprise of 389 well-appointed, elegantly decorated rooms and suites as well as a Club InterContinental floor. Guests will have access to an all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, room service and the pool bar for lighter meal choices and snacks. InterContinental Luanda will also offer exclusive business and conference facilities including a 600 square metre ballroom with a foyer area, 8-10 flexible meeting rooms (totalling 500 square metres) and a boardroom. Other amenities will include a fully-equipped gym, indoor and outdoor pools, and a 300-square-metre retail space.
Opening in Senegal - InterContinental Dakar
Coming in 2014, InterContinental Dakar will be the first property in Senegal to offer an InterContinental Hotels Group brand. The hotel will be part of an extensive and unique residential lifestyle development with 250 rooms set on 30 hectares (74 acres) overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with beautifully landscaped parks and walking trails.
The estate will also include restaurants, a conference centre, business centre, spa, swimming pools, ocean swimming platform and 3,000 sq m (over 32,000 sq ft) of commercial and office space for lease. InterContinental Dakar will offer guests a luxurious place to stay, incorporating unrivalled views across the Atlantic Ocean while providing a unique and enriching experience for business and leisure guests alike.
